My story

Some dogs spend their lives searching for people. F?lix Felicis did the opposite. One ordinary day in Guadalajara, Mexico, a family was out walking their 13-year-old dog when a handsome Husky appeared out of nowhere. Without hesitation, he walked right up to them, rolled onto his back, and asked for belly rubs as if he'd known them forever. No collar. No fear. Just complete confidence that these strangers might become friends. The family searched for his owner, hoping someone was missing him. Days passed, but no one came forward. A visit to the veterinarian confirmed he was healthy, and after being vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered, F?lix Felicis settled into foster care. It didn't take long for everyone to fall in love. F?lix Felicis is everything people adore about Huskies. He's social, affectionate, clever, and always ready for the next adventure. He greets his family every morning with enthusiastic kisses, follows them around the house just to be close, and happily curls up at their feet while they work from home or cook dinner. He simply loves being part of everyday life. Whether it's a walk through the neighborhood, a hike in the mountains, a day at the beach, or an afternoon playing fetch, he is happiest when he's sharing the experience with his people. He has an infectious enthusiasm for life that makes even ordinary days feel a little more fun. He's also wonderfully funny. Like many Huskies, F?lix Felicis has a playful stubborn streak. When he's tired, he may decide that continuing the walk is simply unnecessary, adding a bit of comedy to the day. His expressive personality keeps everyone smiling. At home, he is calm and relaxed. After his morning walk, he's perfectly content to nap in a sunny spot, chew on a favorite toy, or lounge in the yard watching the world go by. He sleeps soundly through the night on his favorite sofa, tucked in with his blanket, and settles easily into the family's daily routine. Early in foster care, he showed a little anxiety when left alone, but with patience, enrichment toys, and loving reassurance, he quickly learned that his people always come back. Today he's confident, secure, and not destructive-although he does have one mischievous habit. If you leave a napkin or tissue within reach, he considers it fair game. His foster family has learned to keep paper products safely out of reach, along with any unattended snacks, because this clever boy is always curious about what people are eating. F?lix Felicis is wonderfully friendly with everyone he meets. He loves other dogs and enjoys playing at dog parks or chasing a ball across the beach with canine friends. He has no history of fear or trauma and isn't bothered by thunderstorms, fireworks, or busy traffic. His confidence and easygoing nature make him a joy to have around. He's also eager to learn and already knows several commands in Spanish, including sit, stay, come, down, and "let's go." He's intelligent, food-motivated, and enjoys learning new things, making continued training both rewarding and fun. F?lix Felicis would thrive with an active family who wants a true companion rather than simply a pet. He'll happily join you on hikes, long walks, beach trips, or even runs, then relax beside you afterward, content just to be included. A home with another playful dog would be wonderful, but it's not essential if his family has time to play, explore, and share adventures with him. A fenced yard would be a bonus, though he can do very well in an apartment as long as he receives plenty of daily exercise and companionship. What wouldn't make F?lix Felicis happy is spending long hours alone or living outside away from his family. He doesn't just want a home. He wants to belong. The day he walked up to a family of strangers and rolled over for belly rubs, he was taking a leap of faith that someone would choose him. Now he's waiting for the family who will choose him forever. If you're looking for a dog who will greet every morning with kisses, make you laugh with his Husky personality, join every adventure with enthusiasm, and remind you every day that life is meant to be enjoyed together, F?lix Felicis may be the companion you've been waiting for. Good with women: Yes Good with men: Yes Good with kids: Yes, he is gentle and careful around younger kids, approaching them for kisses, and behaves the same way with teenagers as he does with adults. Because he is strong and can jump up when excited, he does best with older children or teenagers rather than toddlers, who could be accidentally knocked over. Good with other dogs: Yes, he loves other dogs, male and female, especially those with a similar energy level Good with cats: Yes, he was tested with cats, with very good results. When the family travels, he stays with a caregiver who has cats and gets along with them very well - the cats ignore him, and he wants to play but is never aggressive. He is comfortable off-leash around cats and even sleeps in their beds. Cats he encounters on the street he simply ignores. House trained: Yes, fully house-trained. Goes potty during his walks, in the afternoon and before bed, and always outside - prefers grass or against trees. Crate trained: Not formally crate-trained. He sleeps on the sofa with a blanket underneath, at night only. Energy Level: Medium - he likes long walks; can be active for hours but is also happy to relax on the couch if only given a shorter walk some days Can be handled/touched: Yes Flight risk: No, but extra caution should always be taken in the beginning Food aggressive: No Barker: Moderate amount of barking - vocalizes in a classic Husky way rather than aggressive barking - mainly when excited Walks on leash: Yes, leash trained but can pull and vocalize when excited, especially around other dogs. His foster family is working with a trainer and using an Easy Walk harness, which has helped a lot. He gets excited and jumps a bit when the leash goes on because he loves going out. Leash reactive to people or dogs: No Rides well in cars: Yes Destructive: No - occasionally steals napkins/tissues, but not destructive Needs a home with a yard: Preferred Needs a home with another dog: No Can live in an Apartment: No Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
