My story

Suri here-Missing One Eye, Never Missing the Fun! My Story My name is Suri, and I'm a little 17-pound French Bulldog with a soft heart, a gentle soul, and a personality that continues to blossom every single day. When you first meet me, I can be a little reserved while I take everything in. I like to observe my surroundings, make sure I feel safe, and learn who everyone is before I completely open up. But once I know I'm home and surrounded by people I can trust, you'll quickly discover that I'm playful, affectionate, and happiest when I'm included in whatever the family is doing. Whether you're folding laundry, watching television, cooking dinner, or simply walking from one room to another, you'll probably find me tagging along because being near my people is one of my favorite places to be. My journey to Freedom Frenchie Rescue wasn't the happiest beginning. I was one of three little Frenchie girls who were abandoned when our family moved away, leaving us behind without understanding what we had done wrong. Thankfully, the rescue stepped in and gave us the second chance every dog deserves. Since arriving, I've learned what it feels like to be safe, loved, and cared for, and every day my confidence grows a little more because of the kindness I've been shown. My One-Eyed Adventure When I first arrived, everyone noticed something unusual about one of my eyes. I had a dermoid covering most of it, and over time the condition caused my eye to shrink. Unfortunately, saving the eye wasn't possible, and after consulting with specialists, the decision was made to remove it completely so I could finally live comfortably. The amazing part is how quickly I adapted. Having one eye is simply my normal, and I don't spend a second thinking I'm any different from the other dogs. I run, wrestle, chase toys, explore the yard, cuddle on the couch, and enjoy every single day without letting my missing eye slow me down. My foster mom says I doesn't define me—it just makes me a little more unique. One of my cutest little habits is the way I tilt my head whenever something catches my attention. Since I only have one eye, I like to angle my head just enough to make sure I get the very best view of whatever is happening around me. My foster mom laughs and says I'm "giving everyone the eye," and honestly, she's probably right. I never want to miss out on the excitement, even if the excitement is simply watching someone make dinner or hearing the treat bag crinkle from across the room. My Favorite Things Nothing makes me happier than spending time with my foster brother, Kane. We wrestle, chase each other through the house, nap together, and somehow always manage to convince ourselves that one more round of playtime is a great idea. I have my own special way of getting his attention too. If he's ignoring me, I'll gently reach over and high-five him right in the face. If that doesn't work, I'll bounce over with the tiniest little nibble on his ear until he realizes I'm very serious about playing. It's all part of our daily routine, and it always makes my foster family laugh because I have absolutely no problem letting him know when I think it's time for fun. Because I've grown so much having Kane by my side, my rescue would really love to see me go to a home with another playful French Bulldog. Having another dog gives me confidence, keeps me active, and fills my days with companionship. I love having someone to wrestle with, share naps with, and simply exist alongside. Of course, I also enjoy my humans just as much. When playtime is over, you'll usually find me curled up beside you on the couch, quietly enjoying your company while you relax after a long day. Living My Best Frenchie Life If I had to describe my perfect day, it would include a little bit of everything. I'd start with some wrestling and zoomies around the house, followed by a nap with my foster brother, then maybe another play session just because we can. Somewhere in the middle, I'd definitely make time to stretch out in a warm patch of sunshine because I absolutely love sunbathing. There is just something about feeling the warmth on my back that makes me completely content. I think life is meant to be enjoyed, whether that's playing with my best friend, soaking up the Arizona sunshine, or ending the day snuggled next to the people I love. Things I'm Still Learning Like many rescue dogs, I'm still working on a few things, and potty training is one of them. I'm making progress every week, but I do have one very big distraction... the neighborhood cats. Every time we go outside, they somehow appear near the sliding glass door, and suddenly I've completely forgotten why I went outside in the first place. Potty pads have also been a little hit or miss, but my foster family continues to encourage me with patience and consistency, and I'm learning more every day. I'll need a forever family who understands that learning new routines takes time and who will celebrate all of my little victories along the way. My Perfect Family I'm looking for a family that understands the best relationships aren't always instant. Sometimes the sweetest dogs simply need a little time before their personalities fully bloom, and once mine does, you'll discover a silly, loving, playful little Frenchie who wants nothing more than to make memories with her family. I'd especially love another playful French Bulldog to share my adventures with, a home where cuddles are plentiful, and people who will appreciate both my gentle nature and my goofy side. I may only have one eye, but I don't feel like anything is missing. I see every day as another opportunity to play a little harder, love a little bigger, and enjoy every sunny spot, couch cuddle, and ear nibble life has to offer. I'm simply waiting for the family who will look at me and realize they've been missing me too. Suri is vaccinated, microchipped, and spay, her adoption donation fee is $1100.00. she is being fostered in Mesa, AZ and you can apply for her at freedomfrenchierescue.org
