My story

Kiwi is a seven-year-old, 10-pound, white and orange Chihuahua mix with a sweet spirit that is just beginning to shine. When she arrived at the Maricopa County shelter, she was so frightened that she was placed on the euthanasia list because of her defensive behavior. Thankfully, Home Fur Good saw beyond her fear and gave her the chance she deserved. Since arriving at HFG, Kiwi has made wonderful progress. Once she realizes she's safe, her gentle personality emerges. She has been sweet and easy to handle, enjoys being carried, and walks nicely on a leash. While she's still a little sensitive about collars and harnesses, she continues to grow more comfortable each day as she learns that people can be kind and patient. One of the biggest surprises is Kiwi's playful side! As her confidence grows, so does her joy. Beneath her cautious exterior is a fun-loving little dog who is ready to discover all the happiness life has to offer. She simply needs a family willing to give her the time, understanding, and encouragement to continue blossoming. Kiwi is proof that fearful dogs are often just waiting for someone to believe in them. Kiwi's adoption fee is $150 and includes her spay, vaccinations, microchip, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital.
