My story

Some dogs wear their stories on the outside. Hodu carried hers quietly in her heart. When Hodu first arrived at her foster home in Korea, it was clear that life had not always been kind to her. She would quickly move away if someone raised a hand or lifted a large object nearby, as though she expected something frightening to happen. She also seemed unable to sit comfortably on the floor, leaving her foster family wondering if she had experienced abuse in her past. Although no one knows exactly what Hodu went through, one thing is certain: she has never stopped wanting to love and be loved. With patience, kindness, and a safe home, Hodu has blossomed. Day by day, she has learned that gentle hands bring comfort, not fear. Now she happily runs around the house, seeks out her people, and quietly lies down beside them, simply enjoying their company. While sudden, big movements can still make her nervous, she grows more confident with every passing day. Hodu is the definition of sweet and gentle. Her soft, fluffy coat makes every cuddle feel extra warm and comforting, and there's something incredibly peaceful about holding her close. She has a calm, loving nature that melts hearts without even trying. She also has an adorable playful side. Hodu absolutely loves her toys and gets so excited that her tail starts wagging the moment she sees one. She happily spends time chewing on her own toys and has wonderful house manners-she has no interest in chewing furniture or other household items. Hodu isn't looking for perfection. She's looking for someone who will continue showing her that the world is a safe place and that she will never have to be afraid again. In return, she'll offer quiet companionship, gentle affection, and the kind of love that only a dog who has learned to trust can give. If you're ready to give a deserving dog the forever home she's been waiting for, Hodu is ready to fill your life with warmth, softness, and unconditional love. Good with women: yes Good with men: yes Good with kids: yes, older children recommended. She is timid around kids and becomes cautious, but she does not bark or growl. She stays calm even when the kids talk to her. Good with other dogs: yes, she does not approach them first. She does not show aggressive behavior either. When she first met the foster family's dog, she didn't show much interest, but now it seems that she relies on their dog. Good with cats: unknown House trained: in progress - she goes both indoors on pee pads and outdoors Crate trained: in progress Energy level: low/medium - calm. She is generally quiet most of the time, but when she does something she likes, such as going for a walk or playing with toys, she becomes a little bit more active and wags her tail a lot. Barker: no, but she might bark when strangers pass by the house. Flight risk: no, but extra caution should always be taken in the beginning Food aggressive: no Walks on leash: yes, she loves going for walks. The foster family takes her for 30 min walk every day. Leash reactive to people or dogs: no Rides well in cars: yes Destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: preferred Needs a home with another dog: preferred, but not a necessity Can live in an apartment: yes, but preferably not in a busy area Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
