My story

Meet Bourbon! 🐾 Bourbon is a 2-year-old Shepherd mix looking for a patient, understanding forever home where he can continue to build confidence and learn that the world isn't quite as scary as it sometimes seems. He can be a little stand-offish at first and may react to strangers and passing cars, but once he knows you're a friend, his sweet, playful personality shines through! Bourbon loves to run, explore, and get out on adventures, so he'll be happiest with an active family who can give him plenty of exercise, enrichment, and positive experiences away from the hustle and bustle of city living. Bourbon's training package includes some helpful "getting to know me" tools to support his new family in building trust, helping him navigate the things that make him nervous, and teaching him how to focus and check in with his people. He'll benefit from an adopter who is patient, consistent, and willing to let him interact at his own pace while celebrating those little moments of bravery. Bourbon has shown that he can be friendly with other large dogs through a fence, but because he can be selective about his canine friends, any potential doggy roommate would need careful introductions. He is looking for a home with mature children and no cats or other dogs.
