Idgie's story starts in the middle of nowhere - literally. She was found walking alone on a remote road with absolutely nothing around her. No houses, no buildings, no water sources...nothing for miles. We were already at capacity, but there was no way we could leave this little girl out there, so we picked her up and carried her home. And then Idgie showed us exactly what kind of dog she is. SMART. Like, ridiculously smart. Within seconds, she figured out how to unlock BOTH doors of her kennel! And because apparently that wasn't impressive enough, she eventually figured out how long to wait before making her great escape after we walked away. But Idgie isn't just a clever little escape artist - she is an absolute sweetheart. She loves people, gets along beautifully with dogs and cats, is wonderful with kids, and is incredibly affectionate. She has the cutest curly-tipped tail and a dainty, sweet personality that makes her impossible not to adore. Idgie is the kind of dog who walks into your life and immediately makes you wonder how you ever lived without her. She's smart, loving, playful, adaptable and just plain special.
