My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Ogeum Age: 4 years old (Born January 2022) Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Pomeranian mix Color: Black (with a bit of white) Weight:  7.3kg / 16lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a dog farm, where I lived without the safety, comfort, and love every dog deserves. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in and gave me the chance to leave that difficult life behind. I’m safe now and slowly learning what it feels like to be cared for and loved. Despite everything I’ve been through, I still have so much love waiting to be shared. That chapter of my life is over. Now I’m ready for a fresh start and a forever family who will show me just how wonderful life can be.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m super cute, and somehow even more adorable in person! I can be shy when we first meet, which is completely understandable considering everything I’ve been through. I just need a little time and patience to learn that I’m safe. Once I feel comfortable, my affectionate side starts to shine and I’ll happily shower my people with love. I’m still learning that being handled can be a positive and safe experience, so gentle guidance will help me continue building my confidence. I also have a big appetite and am eager to learn! With some tasty treats, patience, and plenty of love, I have so much potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be shy when we first meet, but tasty treats are a great way to help me feel more comfortable. Once I’ve had a little time to warm up, I’ll happily accept gentle pets and start showing you my sweet side. I’m also comfortable being picked up, although I’m still learning that being handled is safe and nothing to worry about. With patience, gentle handling, and positive experiences, I’ll continue building my confidence and trust. · With Dogs: I’m friendly with my dog friends and enjoy greeting new canine friends! I’m generally social and comfortable sharing my space with other dogs. I also have a very big appetite and get especially excited around food. Because of this, I’ll do best with some simple management during mealtimes, such as being given my own space to eat so everyone can enjoy their meals comfortably and peacefully. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk nicely on leash and follow my handler’s lead well. When I’m walking with someone unfamiliar, I may occasionally stop or hesitate to follow, so a little patience and gentle encouragement will help me feel more confident. I have good manners around food with people, but I can be sensitive when other dogs are nearby during mealtimes, so giving me my own space to eat is recommended. I may occasionally bark when I’m looking for attention, but I settle down nicely. For potty habits, I currently go both indoors using pee pads and outdoors. With a consistent routine in my forever home, I should continue making great progress.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a sweet, food motivated girl who is eager to learn! Tasty treats are definitely the way to my heart and will be a great tool for helping me build confidence and learn new things. I can be shy at first, but once I trust you, I become incredibly affectionate and loyal. Give me a little time and I’ll happily become your devoted little shadow. I also get along wonderfully with my dog friends and enjoy having them around. I’m still learning to feel comfortable being handled and may try to move away if someone attempts to pick me up. I just need patience and positive experiences to understand that being held is safe. Interestingly, I’m very patient during grooming and handle it nicely. I’ve already come so far from my past, and I know my forever family is out there somewhere. I just need someone willing to give me the time to trust them.
