Adopt Luke, the Steady Soul Who Settles Right at Your FeetTake a seat, and Luke will quietly settle down right beside your feet, content just to be near you.Quick Facts: Breed: Husky mix · Sex: Male · Born: January 2023 · Weight: 23 kg · Location: Korea · Traits: Calm, affectionate, gentle · Health: Neutered, vaccinatedBackground: Luke was rescued in January, 2026, from a city shelter in Gwangju, Korea. Even in that stressful situation, he liked people so much that he followed along easily, without a trace of fear or hesitation. Since then he has been living with other dogs at our partner shelter.Personality: Luke is a calm, gentle, cuddly soul who's always angling for a little affection. When someone comes to his kennel in the morning, he bounces around with excitement, clearly delighted for the company. His favorite things are simple: treats, resting beside people, and being petted. He takes new people, places, and objects completely in stride, with no big reaction either way, and when he's on his own, he mostly naps the time away.Compatibility: Luke gets along equally well with men and women and shows no preference either way. He hasn't had experience with children yet. He enjoys being touched and petted, and there's no part of him that's sensitive to a gentle hand.Luke hasn't lived with cats before, so we can't say for certain how he'd do. Knowing his easygoing nature, though, we think it's possible with a slow, gradual introduction, plenty of patience, and enough space for each of them to have their own retreat while they get used to one another.He gets along well with other dogs of every size, including ones as small as 5 kg, and doesn't pay much mind to them either way. He gravitates toward calm, well-mannered playmates and is just as happy lying down to rest while other dogs run around and play. He isn't much of a food guarder, but he does like good manners from his housemates and may hold his ground if another dog gets pushy.Behaviours & Training: Luke goes to the bathroom outdoors and rests quietly, lying down, whenever he's in his kennel or crate. He walks well on a leash and harness without pulling, and barely reacts to other dogs, cars, or motorcycles along the way. He's an easy traveler in the car and stays well behaved at the vet. Bath time, nail trims, and brushing don't bother him at all, and he has no habit of chewing things he shouldn't. He already knows his name, sit, and wait. He rarely barks, though he'll sometimes whimper when he's waiting on his dinner, and he shows no signs of separation anxiety, staying settled and quiet when left alone.Health & Diet: Luke is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on all his vaccinations. He takes a monthly parasite preventative. He completed treatment for heartworm in March 2026. He has no known allergies, skin issues, or physical disabilities. He had a dental scaling in August, 2026, and didn't need any extractions. His front teeth are somewhat worn down, and one of his upper front teeth sits slightly above the gumline, but his vet has confirmed neither affects his health. He has passed his veterinary screening and is healthy and ready for a forever home. He has a great appetite and eats dry food twice a day.Ideal Home: Luke would do best with someone who works from home or is retired, so he isn't left alone for long stretches and has company throughout the day. A quiet household suits him well, and if there's already a dog in the home, a calm, easygoing companion would be the best match for him. He'd do just as well with first-time dog owners as with someone more experienced. As he settles into his new home, he'll appreciate the freedom to relieve himself outdoors on his own schedule, along with regular walks to help him find his footing.Steady, affectionate, and easy to love, Luke is ready to bring his quiet, comforting presence into a family of his own.
