My story

Meet Tankie, a handsome labrador/boxer mix who is the ultimate "big goofball" and an absolute professional at snuggly companionship. This big guy has been incredibly well-trained using a balanced approach and boasts impeccable manners both inside and outside the home. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and exhibits a wonderful medium-to-low energy level indoors, where he behaves calmly and handles transitions seamlessly. On walks, Tankie is a dream; he walks beautifully on a loose leash without pulling, shows no reactivity to people or other dogs, and even knows advanced commands like a rock-solid down-stay. He is also a quiet gentleman who does not bark, travels easily as he rides well in the car, and remains completely unfazed by loud noises like fireworks or thunderstorms. Tankie is incredibly social and loves everyone he meets, including men, women, and the neighbourhood children he greets with a calm sit or lie-down. While he is currently fantastic with the toddler in his seasonal home, his ideal new home should have a yard and would best suit an active family with older children simply due to his massive, sturdy size. He is highly versatile when it comes to other animals; he gets along great with other dogs and would love a canine sibling, though he doesn't strictly need one. He and is respectfully indifferent to cats. Overnight, Tankie happily sleeps on the main level in his XL crate, though he prefers to sleep without a bed as he has a minor habit of chewing blankets. Ultimately, Tankie is a healthy, affectionate boy who is ready to bring a lifetime of hikes, outdoor adventures, and couch cuddles to a very lucky family.
