Ham

My story

Meet Ham, a compact and lively 11-month-old American Staffordshire Terrier weighing 32 pounds. This handsome brown-and-tan boy is still very much a puppy, and he’s looking for someone who will help him learn all the skills he needs to become a wonderful adult dog. Ham is already off to a great start! He knows “sit,” walks beautifully on leash without pulling, and has a gentle pace that makes him a pleasure to walk. He’s also affectionate, eager to be with people, and has shown no reactivity toward other dogs while out on his walks. With his happy, puppyish energy and willingness to learn, Ham has plenty of potential. Ham has shown some resource-guarding behavior around his food and can become nippy when he feels protective of it. Because of this, he needs an adopter who understands resource guarding and is comfortable continuing positive, consistent training to help him feel secure around his meals. With the right guidance, patience, and structure, Ham can continue building the good-dog skills he is already beginning to learn. Ham’s adoption fee is $350 and includes spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. To meet this sweet young guy, please call 602-971-1334 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome Thursday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ham, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
