My story

WEACT rescued Hareu from an illegal dog farm hidden behind the scenic beauty of Jeju Island. Operated by a local restaurant owner, the facility was filled with piles of waste and severe neglect, leaving seven dogs trapped in cramped wire cages. WEACT stepped in to save them, bringing Hareu to safety so he could finally know clean food, comfort, and human warmth. True to his sweet personality, Hareu is a quiet gentleman who loves human affection even more than playing with other dogs. He is very polite, prefers calm canine companions, and politely steps away if another dog becomes too intense. Hareu continues to make wonderful progress with daily handling and routine care. Hareu would thrive in a warm, patient home where he can be surrounded by love and gentle guidance. The type of housing is not important as long as his family enjoys routine daily walks to keep him happy and active. He can live comfortably as an only dog or alongside a calm, balanced resident pet who respects his personal space. Hareu is waiting for a forever family who will share active daily routines with him and show him that the world is a safe place. Good with women: yes, Hareu is good with women Good with men: yes, Hareu is good with men Good with kids: yes, older children recommended as his interactions with kids has been limited Good with other dogs: yes, Hareu gets along well other dogs! He may get shy at the beginning when meeting new friends but quickly befriends them. He prefers to engage in play with dogs who approach him slowly but avoids the space when there are dogs who approach too excitedly or quickly. He may let out a short bark in such cases, but no aggression is seen. Good with cats: unknown, Hareu hasn't encountered cats yet House trained: in progress Crate trained: in progress. Energy level: medium/high, Hareu enjoys routine walks and play, but also has a calm, polite disposition when socializing. Walking at least twice a day is recommended to help him stay confident and happy. Can be handled/touched: yes, Hareu is fine with being handled or touched. He may be shy at the beginning, so it is important to give him time and space when meeting him for the first time. Currently, he is becoming more comfortable with grooming but has been fine with baths! Barker: no Flight Risk: no, but it is always recommended to double leash at the beginning to be safe Food aggressive: no Current food: kibble Walks on leash: yes, Hareu is currently practicing leash walks Leash reactive to people or dogs: no Rides well in cars: yes Destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: preferred Needs a home with another dog: not necessarily Can live in an apartment: yes Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
