My story

WEACT rushed to an illegal dog farm in Seongnam after receiving a report of a blind dog suffering in a raised wire cage. The site was an unimaginable horror with dilapidated bowls filled with rotting food scraps, piles of garbage and waste covering the floor, swarms of insects, and a suffocating stench. Inside, were dogs in cages. Yet despite the cruelty they endured, these gentle dogs surrendered themselves softly into human hands the moment rescuers reached out. WEACT named one of these sweet boys Namgu. Namgu is a cheerful, upbeat boy whose bright smile and wagging taillight up every room. He wears his heart on his sleeve and expresses his happiness so openly that you can't help but smile whenever you are around him. To Namgu, humans are the most precious thing in the world. Once he knows you, he will run up with happy whines, offer his back and belly for pets, and gently nudge your hand with his paw if you stop petting him before he's ready! Namgu's world revolves around his loving family. He treasures companionship and thrives in an environment where he isn't left alone for long periods, but rather shares daily life, eye contact, and heartfelt connections. Namgu would thrive with an active family who will enjoy regular walks at least twice a day and engage in fun outdoor activities like visiting dog cafes or swimming to keep him happy and balanced. Housing type is not important; whether in an apartment or a house, Namgu adapts quickly as long as he is with the people he loves. He also gets along wonderfully with other dogs, showing great consideration and social manners. Namgu is waiting for a warm forever family who will fill his days with laughter, active adventures, and endless love. Good with women: yes, Namgu is good with women Good with men: yes, Namgu is good with men. He may be cautious at the beginning around men, but with gentle approach and time for him to familiarize himself with men, he opens his heart and shows his sweet, affectionate side. Good with kids: yes, older children recommended as his interactions with kids has been limited Good with other dogs: Yes, Namgu is polite, reads body language well, and greets dogs calmly by sniffing first. If another dog isn't interested in playing, he respectfully steps back without causing conflict. Good with cats: unknown, Namgu hasn't encountered cats yet House trained: yes, outdoor potty preferred Crate trained: in progress, closed crates or tight spaces can make him nervous, so positive association training to help him feel secure in his house/crate is recommended. Energy level: med/high, walking at least twice a day is ideal for Namgu to burn off energy and explore outdoor environments. Once his energy needs are met, he is great at settling down and relaxing at home. Can be handled/touched: yes, Namgu loves affection and touch! Once comfortable, he nudges his head, leans his body, and rolls over for belly rubs. If you stop petting him, he will gently tap you with his paw to ask for more. Barker: no Flight Risk: no, but it is always recommended to double leash at the beginning to be safe Food aggressive: no Current food: kibble Walks on leash: yes, Namgu does great with leash walks! He doesn't seem to be bothered by outdoor noises as well Leash reactive to people or dogs: no Rides well in cars: yes Destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: preferred Needs a home with another dog: not necessarily, Namgu can thrive as an only dog or in a home with resident dogs or cats Can live in an apartment: yes, as long as his daily exercise and outdoor needs (like walking twice a day) are met Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Namgu (20261005-01), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
