My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Bunhong Age: 6 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Mini Poodle Color: Brown Weight:  5kg / 11lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from an illegal puppy farm, where I wasn't given the loving home and care that every dog deserves. Thankfully, kind rescuers stepped in and gave me a second chance at a better life. Those difficult days are finally behind me, and now I have the opportunity to experience all the wonderful things life has to offer. I'm ready to leave my past behind and begin a brand new chapter filled with love, comfort, and happiness.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues I underwent surgery to remove a mammary tumour in 2025, followed by a biopsy to examine the tissue. Thankfully, there have been no signs of recurrence for a full year, and by early 2026, I was no longer considered to be in the high-risk group for recurrence!   MY PERSONALITY I’m definitely more of a people’s pup! I absolutely love being around people, soaking up affection, and enjoying tasty treats. Despite my difficult past, I haven’t lost my trust in people and still greet everyone I meet with a friendly, loving attitude. Once I get to know you, I’ll happily follow you from room to room, hoping for a little extra attention and affection. I just love being close to my favourite humans! Because I’m happiest when I have my people all to myself, I would do best as the only dog in my forever home, where I can soak up all the love and attention without having to share.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: Did I mention how much I LOVE people? I’m an incredibly friendly and affectionate pup who loves meeting new friends! I happily greet everyone I meet with a wagging tail and plenty of sweet kisses. I just can’t help showing people how much I adore them! During my profile photoshoot, I was busy showering the volunteers and staff with kisses, happily accepting all the pets, cuddles, and attention they had to offer. I absolutely love being close to people and never miss an opportunity for some extra affection! I’m also calm and gentle around children and am comfortable being picked up and held. With my loving personality and endless affection, I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by my favourite humans! · With Dogs: I’m friendly with other dogs and enjoy greeting new canine friends, but I’m definitely more of a people’s pup! While I get along well with the other dogs at the care facility, I usually prefer doing my own thing rather than spending all my time playing with them. I can feel a little overwhelmed by larger dogs with lots of energy, especially when they approach me too enthusiastically. I’m much more comfortable with calm, gentle greetings from dogs who respect my personal space. Because I love human affection so much, I can sometimes get a little jealous when other dogs are receiving attention. For this reason, I would be happiest as the only dog in my forever home, where I can enjoy all the love, cuddles, and attention from my favourite people! · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I can pull on leash at times, but overall I follow my handler’s lead nicely and enjoy going for walks. With a little more practice and consistency, I’ll continue improving my leash manners! I also have great manners around food and don’t guard my meals or treats from either people or other dogs. I may bark occasionally when I want some extra attention, but I settle down quickly and am generally a quiet pup. I already know how to relax and rest calmly in my kennel, too! For potty habits, I currently go both indoors using pee pads and outdoors. With a consistent routine in my forever home, I can continue building good habits!   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • Ideally, the only dog – I am ready to be your forever loyal companion!   SPECIAL NOTES When I was first rescued, one thing that immediately stood out about me was just how friendly I was! Despite everything I had been through, I never lost my love and trust in people. I was always eager to greet everyone with a wagging tail, a happy attitude, and plenty of affection. I also underwent surgery to remove a mammary tumour, and I handled my recovery like a champ! Thankfully, there have been no signs of recurrence for a full year, and I'm otherwise healthy and doing well. When it comes to other dogs, I can be a little selective about my friends, but who isn't? I get along well with the dogs at the care facility, although I'm generally more independent and prefer doing my own thing rather than constantly playing or socializing. My heart truly belongs to people, and nothing makes me happier than spending time with my favourite volunteers and staff, soaking up cuddles, and following them around for a little extra love. I'm a sweet, calm, and intelligent little Poodle with so much love left to give. After everything I've been through, I'm ready to leave my difficult past behind and enjoy the comfort and security of a forever home where I'll be loved and cherished.
