My story

Meet Lassie!Lassie is a truly sweet, gentle girl with so much love to give! She has a lovely, soft nature and is sure to steal hearts with her kind personality. While she can be a little nervous around new people and unfamiliar environments, her sweetness shines through once she begins to feel safe. She`ll need a patient family who will give her time to settle in, build trust, and discover that the world isn`t such a big, scary place.Lassie has moderate to high energy and will benefit from daily exercise, mental enrichment, and activities that tap into her natural herding instincts. She`s also on a weight-loss journey, and her new family should be prepared to continue supporting her with appropriate nutrition, exercise, and fun enrichment activities. With time, patience, and plenty of love, Lassie has so much potential to blossom into a confident and happy companion. She`s looking for someone who will appreciate her gentle soul, celebrate her little victories, and give her the reassurance she needs to feel at home. If you`re looking for a sweet girl to share life`s adventures with, Lassie might just be your girl!IN-SHELTER NOTES & IDEAL HOMESIZE:75 lbs and Losing!HOME TYPE:No shared entrancesCHILDREN:Yes - Older children with large dog experience.CATS & SMALL ANIMALS:No - Lassie may exhibit breed-specific herding behaviours, such as chasing or attempting to control movementOTHER DOGS:No - Lassie prefers to have all your cuddles to herself!ACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL:Moderate to High; will need lots of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.HUMAN COMPATIBILTY:First-time dog owner possible, provided they are willing to continue positive socialization and weight lossTRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS:At least One in-person training sessions to work on confidence building and positive socializationHUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER:Lassie is incredibly sweet when she`s comfortable.FAVOURITE THINGS:Cuddles! At HSKWSP we do not assign our dogs or cats with a breed as we cannot guarantee the specific breed that they are.
