I went to the adoption center in Greenville SC and saw a picture on the wall of a cat that looked just like Garfield the cartoon cat. I asked to see that cat but was told that he escaped from his cage and was hiding in the false ceiling and they could not catch him. I asked them to call me when they caught him. He eventually came down from the ceiling and they called me to come and get him which I did. I adopted Garfield right away. A few months later Garfield went outside when I accidentally left the front door open. He climbed into my neighbor’s pickup truck. My neighbor took his truck to work near Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville. I was soon called by the Greenville animal shelter because Garfield had a chip installed under the skin of his neck. They asked me if I was missing a cat and if I was, I could get him from the shelter. I told them that I was missing a cat and I would come down to the shelter to get Garfield. I had to pay $10.00 for his injection because they always did that for any animal that they find. Garfield will not go near the front door again.
The other day I had to replace a window screen in my street level bedroom. Garfield climbed up onto the windowsill and fell out. He immediately jumped back into the bedroom and will not go near the window or front door.
