Meet Panda! Panda is three years old, just loves people and is very friendly and affectionate; wherever you are in the house, he’ll probably be there too. Strangers are never strangers for long around him — in fact, he was sleeping on his new foster mom’s lap by the second day. He loves playing together with you using feather wands or laser pointers, but he’s also happy chilling out on his own or amusing himself by chasing balls with bells. In addition to being sociable, Panda is polite, well-behaved and an overall gentleman. He’ll accompany you to the bathroom, but wait outside the door. He understands that being repeatedly picked up off the counter and placed on the ground means he shouldn’t go on the counter. He never knocks things down by accident (only on purpose, if he's feeling too bored!) and respects human furniture as long as he gets his own space too. Even when he’s hungry for his breakfast, he’ll check to see if you’re awake first before he starts meowing. Though you’ll usually only hear adorable chirps or quiet meows from Panda, the one occasion you might hear a growl or hiss is when he chases his tail. His Feline Hyperesthesia causes him to sometimes attack his own tail, which has resulted in a scar along his tail. But he’s easily distracted from it, so a laser pointer or a jingling ball will end the behaviour quickly, and he has no other symptoms. Keeping him busy, active and amused is the best way to minimize this quirk of his. Panda currently wears a calming collar, which has the added benefit of making him smell wonderful. He eats kibble formulated for urinary care, which is available from your local vet, and his favourite type of wet food is the classic Fancy Feasts Tuna. He’s easy to please — crack open a can or give him a good chin scratch, and in return he’ll give you purrs for days. Panda has met dogs before and appeared to be ok with them. Panda has lots of energy so a house with older children who can play with him and tucker him out, would be best. Panda was found as a stray and has now been in foster for over a year! It’s time to find this boy his forever home! If you think you will be able to give Panda the home that he so deserves, or would like to meet him, please contact Ninth Life Cat Rescue at (905) 301-3532, email: info@ninthlifecatrescue.org or fill out an online application: http://ninthlifecatrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Panda, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
