Meet Jewel!6 Year-Old ~ Mixed BreedThis special gem is ready to melt your heart!Jewel is a beautiful 6.5-year-old Mexican street dog mix who originally came to Canada through K9Crusaders over five years ago. With her sleek black coat, soft folded ears, and the sweetest little white patch around her nose and chest, she’s a striking girl with a loyal heart.For most of her life, Jewel has been a deeply loved companion and she has thrived being part of the daily routine and family life. Unfortunately, significant changes in the home have recently created a lot of disruption and stress for Jewel, and her owner made the very difficult decision to ask for help finding her a new environment where she can feel settled and secure again.Jewel is a medium to high-energy dog who would thrive with an active single person or couple who enjoy getting outside for walks or hikes and spending time together at home. She forms strong bonds with her people and would do best in a home where she won’t be left alone for long periods of time.Jewel has lived with cats, and has also shared her life with another dog, but we feel she would would be happiest as the only dog in the home as she has recently shown signs of resource guarding behaviour. While it is manageable, she may be best suited to a home where she can soak up all the attention and companionship from her people as a solo dog. A home with older, dog-savvy children or adults only, would likely be the best match. Her previous family have described Jewel as a lovely, loyal dog who simply needs stability and the right environment to shine.?Jewel has so much love and companionship to offer the right person.
