Whenever a sweet and engaging Corgi mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that dogs of this breed mix are loving, super-smart and make great family companions. They fit so well into a household and make excellent best friends for all age groups as well as other dogs. Clover is an active and loving girl that was adopted out in Texas, but returned to the shelter due to playing too hard with the family's cat and small dog. For this reason, we don't feel that a home with a cat or a smaller dog is appropriate for Clover. On the other hand, she loves play and snuggle- time with like-sized or larger dogs and we feel that would be a good match. Sometimes rescue dogs are initially a bit shy....but put them into a home with a loving family that provides frequent socialization, nurturing, love and belly rubs.. and they will shine. Clover is one of these pups...she's a blank slate that's just waiting for the commitment of a great family. Her love will know no bounds as she becomes a best friend and the greatest snuggler ever. Clover is such a great age and size... at just about 10 months old, Clover is young enough to be open to new and wonderful possibilities in her life yet old enough to have left most of her babyish behaviors behind. Clover weighs in at 30 lbs...the perfect size for hikes, fun backyard play and to accompany her people everywhere a sweet and well-behaved medium-sized pup is welcome. Clover's Texas foster mom had the following to say about this awesome dog: Clover is a gorgeous 10 month old, 30 lb, fully vetted, microchipped and spayed Corgi/ Husky mix who is the sweetest and most loving baby you'll ever meet! Clover was returned to the shelter after being too playful with small pets There's no question that it's that family's loss...this girl is absolutely awesome!! Clover is a happy as can be and super-friendly love bug who absolutely loves to run around and play hard outside. First thing every morning she has really comical zoomies and again in the evening before she goes to sleep. My kids (2 girls 14 and 15) and their friends think Clover is the best thing that's happened in their lives! They're here on weekend days to play backyard games and go for walks with Clover (she's working on her leash skills and making a bit of progress each day). After dinner, Clover is on the couch between the kids watching movies or just hanging out. Needless to say, Clover is as popular as any dog can be! But through all the fun, there's nothing that would speak to this little dog like going to her forever home. She will be the most loyal and loving family member...sharing her love and good-will with her people and other like-sized or larger dogs. Every day it becomes more obvious that Clover loves all people and creatures (besides cats and small dogs..they're just too irresistible to chase). Once comfortable in her environment, Clover greets everyone with a wagging tail and a huge smile on her gorgeous face. She would be thrilled to have a larger dog sibling to play with, love on and settle down in the sunshine together for a nap. We think she will thrive in Colorado and we know her perfect home is just waiting for her! Clover is lucky enough to have inherited the superior intelligence, curiosity and fun-loving nature of both the Corgi and Husky breeds. She is so excited and attentive when her people teach her the wonders of her world. If Clover is trained with a positive reinforcement trainer and given tons of love and socialization with both humans and other dogs, she will grow into a self-confident girl who will be a wonderful companion and snuggle buddy. Clover has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament, a love of life and a puppyish desire to please. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in your area. We'd like to place Clover in a home with either active retirees or a younger family who loves spending lots of time with a fuzzy and devoted family member. Clover is too sensitive a girl to spend long hours alone while her family works full-time outside of the home. Retirees or a younger family that works from a home office would be perfect for our sweet Clover to get loved up periodically throughout the day. Clover will love the trails and paths of Colorado (she's the perfect size to enjoy long hikes through the mountains). Window-shopping would also be great to fine-tune her urban skills and provide the socialization that is so important in the development of any dog's abilities. Clover has a stunning coat that's a bit shelter-sad right now. Clover will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths/grooming and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement is recommended for general longevity and coat care) to keep her stunning coat cottony-soft, shining and super-healthy. Clover has been fully vetted (to be granted her interstate health certificate for travel), vaccinated, microchipped and spayed prior to her transport to Colorado. This is in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dog as well as a commitment to zero population growth. Clover will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 2/17/2021 . Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, fun-loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Clover please be sure to fill out the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Adoptapet, Rescueme and Petfinder don't provide enough information for our purposes. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit a Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Clover, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
