** If you are interested in adopting Sawyer, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Sawyer found himself wandering the streets of Pampa Tx with a couple of friends, and then decided he had enough of the street dog life and turned himself into the shelter. He's reluctant to share more about his past, but we can expect that it was ruff. Sawyer has had no luck finding a warm bed and belly rubs in TX so he decided that maybe Colorado would be the place for him to get lucky. Sawyer is believed to be an Wheaten/Cairn Terrier mix, but truth is his parents may have gotten around. Based of his teeth and behavior we think he's about 2-3 years old which is the perfect age to have left those puppy behaviors behind, and still be eager to learn. Sawyer has told us that his ideal home would be a family that either works in a dog friendly office or from a home based office. His biggest concern is that he doesn't want to be left home alone for more than 4hrs at a time, he says that's very boring. Sawyer would also be ok with going to daycare while you work, because he loves to hang out with other k9's. He also loves the daily walk or hike so a family that's active is preferred. Sawyer is also a healthy weight of 44lbs, and to help him maintain his fit figure he will require great nutrition (Farfel's is happy to provide a list of good foods). Many dogs come into our rescue with shelter sad coats, but with good food and a bath they start to look fresh and revived. Sawyer would benefit from attending a level 1 training class taught by one of our approved trainers. Farfel's Farm believes in only using positive reinforcement/force free training methods, because we have found that to be more effective. Sawyer is also still learning potty habits, but he's a smart guy and he's figuring it out. We do expect any rescue going into a new home to have a few accidents with all the new smells, but when Sawyer has plenty of potty breaks he doesn't go in the home. Sawyer will also be neutered prior to their transport to Colorado. This supports our work and hopes that one day dog overpopulation will become a thing of the past and therefore it will be unnecessary to euthanize a healthy dog. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder, Rescueme and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving puppy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sawyer, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
