** If you are interested in adopting Bertha & Bayley, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** These very sweet little girls haven’t quite had the life they deserved, but they're ready for a second chance. Farfel's Rescue was reached out to by our Oklahoma rescue partner about these beautiful purebred French Bulldogs in need of rescue. Bertha and Bayley are gorgeous, silly little girls. They are both 5 years old. Bayley (gray) is 24 lbs. Bertha, or as her foster calls her, Big Bertha, is a little thicker, weighing about 28 lbs. These girls are purebred French Bulldogs. Bertha and Bayley had been used her whole lives as a breeding dogs for a french bulldog puppy mill. After both of their last pregnancies were unsuccessful, the breeder dumped them at a small shelter in Oklahoma to be euthanized. From Bertha & Bayley's foster: *** "I cannot begin to describe how much we love these two dogs! They are more than great with our two kids, and have become amazing and great with our two dogs. They are super curious about our guinea pigs, but that is to be expected. We haven’t tested them with cats. Bertha (white one) came to us as a chunky little thing who could barely move. She has now learned how to go up and down the stairs and loves to go for walks, although at a slightly slower pace than we typically go. She is super friendly and loving, and just wants to be constantly pet. She snores at night, so be warned! We are still working on house training her, but it is increasingly better than the day before. Bayley (grey one) did take a bit longer to warm up to us, but she is the sweetest thing now! She comes to us for pets and our lap. She’s incredibly attached Bertha and usually sleeps on top of her. She is starting to become her own little person, and often initiates play with Bertha. We think she is better potty trained than Bertha, but we don’t always know who is the one that has caused the accident. Like Bertha, she is a trooper when it comes to walks. These two girlies are like having constant piggy shadows, following us around the house. They are kind and gentle and just want to be loved. There was some grumpiness with Bayley initially with our dogs, but after a few days they all worked it out and became friends. The girls love to play together and sleep together and are pretty much always side-by-side. They are the proverbial two peas in a pod." *** These girls are currently in a foster home in Boulder, and they’re learning what it’s like to really be a dog! Farfel's Rescue and our rescue partners would love to see Bertha & Bayley in a home with an individual or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet pair. We'd hate to see them left alone all day while her family works full-time outside of the home. Bertha & Bayley are up to date on their vaccines and spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bertha & Bayley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
