My story

Sherlock (orange) and Watson (black) are bonded senior brothers who adore each other and must be adopted together. These quiet, sweet old gentlemen are looking for a calm, loving home where they can cuddle by a window and watch the world go by. They are playful with each other, often wrestling and chattering softly when left alone. Despite their senior status, they still enjoy toys like trackballs and batting toys, and both are excellent about using a scratching post. They are good with other cats and would probably enjoy having another cat friend to play with, though they are happiest together. We are unsure how they would respond to dogs.Having grown up in a feral colony, both boys are very shy and still being socialized after over a year in foster care. Sherlock is wary of humans and prefers to be in a different room, though he will cautiously come closer for a treat if you are patient. Watson is the more outgoing of the two, slowly warming up to human interaction, especially with the help of wet treats. He doesn`t mind hanging out in the same room with a person, making him a little easier to bond with. These senior boys are both toothless but can eat both dry and wet food. They are healthy but prone to over-eating, so their diet should be monitored. Sherlock and Watson hide from children and strangers, making them better suited for an adult-only home. Adopting them may pose a challenge, as they require a patient, experienced cat owner willing to work to earn their trust and affection, but the rewards of bringing these two bonded brothers into your home are immeasurable. They’ve already been through so much together and are ready to share their quiet love with someone who understands them.Sherlock has had major dental surgery with the majority of his teeth removed. As a senior cat, Sherlock requires yearly bloodwork to monitor his health. His next test is due in May 2025. Sherlock is negative for FIV and FeLV. Like all ACR cats, Sherlock has been treated for fleas and parasites.Video: Sherlock eating Churuhttps://va.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_rvraj4PAfj1qaimww_720.mp4Video: Sherlock and Watson cuddlinghttps://va.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_rvranazLfb1qaimww_720.mp4** In honor of senior cats everywhere, two generous sponsors have teamed up to cover the adoption fees for both Sherlock and Watson! These handsome boys are ready to become as much a part of your life as they already are of each other’s.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sherlock *MUST BE ADOPTED WITH, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
