My story

Cabo von Calden is a beautiful 14-15 month old Shepherd mix. With stunning yellow eyes and a breeze of a name, Cabo’s happy demeanor will come out quickly once he makes your acquaintance. He is a bit shy when he first meets humans, but he’ll turn that around with one treat; at the first sight of a cookie, he’ll sit down and offer you his paw. He does a great job on his leash and will heel once he settles in with you – as soon as you start walking, he’ll let you know that you’re his new best friend. Cabo loves being petted and given affection, and he has a good, medium level of energy. In his playgroups, he is a fantastic greeter and makes sure to invite all of the pups to play with him. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
