Champ has learned to be cautious with strangers, but give him a little time and trust, and he’ll give you everything in return: endless affection, warm snuggles, and steadfast devotion. Once you’re part of his inner circle, you’re in for life — and he’ll make sure you know it. An athlete through and through, Champ thrives on movement and adventure. He’s at his happiest chasing a ball through fresh snow, taking on a flirt pole challenge, or sprinting down the trail on a run. After a good workout, he’s all about creature comforts: a Kong stuffed with peanut butter, a cozy fire, and snoozing beside you, happily curled up as the big spoon. Champ has come a long way in foster care. He’s mastered commands like “sit,” “shake,” and “drop it,” and loves showing off how well he listens — especially if it means making you proud. He walks beautifully on leash and is happiest in a home with no shared walls, since he's serious about keeping his loved ones safe and isn’t shy about alerting you to visitors. He gets along well with dogs his size or larger, but small animals (including cats) aren’t a fit. And because of his strength and energy, he’d do best in a home with older kids — middle school and up. More than anything, Champ is looking for someone who sees him — not just his strength or bark, but the gentle, loyal heart beneath.
