Meet Kiki! After being found all alone as a kitten in a backyard 16 years ago, Kiki was taken in and became a loved and loving family member. Unfortunately, he found himself in need of a new home for his golden years due to the severe allergies of a young child in his family. Losing the only family and home that he had ever known was understandably very hard for Kiki. Fortunately, he has been living in a Foster home with a patient and understanding family for the past 8 months. Kiki's foster mom shared this update: "Kiki is a mellow guy who likes to snooze in his fuzzy bed atop the human bed. He gets up a few times a day to eat, potty, look out the window, scratch on his post, and look out the gate into the house. He gets around well and has no trouble jumping up to table height, although he does have a chair to help him up to the desk where his food is kept. Kiki is very chatty when I'm around, and often during the night when he wants an additional meal. Sometimes when I'm tending to his room, he gets the zoomies. After several months, he started laying on or next to me when I go into his room to relax on the bed. Kiki gets along well enough with my big dog, but my cat is another matter. Unfortunately, my cat is eager to take jabs at him, so the two are kept separated by a tall gate. I think Kiki chooses to stays in his comfy bedroom almost all of the time, so he doesn't run into my cat. Kiki does not use the litter box at all, but he reliably uses potty pads. There's a large "landing zone" of potty pads atop carpet protection in his room. Sometimes he misses with his poop, but it is always close to the landing zone. Kiki always greets the people who come to visit him with vocalizations. He allows himself to be stroked gently. He will often will try to nip and swipe at the people, but he isn't trying to attack. It appears he was never properly socialized to be a housecat, so the biting and scratching seem to be his feline way of interacting the only way he knows how." Kiki the quirky kitty has a wonderful foster home but is still looking for a forever home of his own. If you can offer Kiki the love and understanding he needs, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kiki, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
