Meet Izzy 👉 Apply to Adopt Izzy's story is one of resilience, hope, and second chances. This beautiful hound mix came to us in the most heartbreaking of circumstances—she and her seven newborn puppies found themselves on the euthanasia list at animal control, simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Thankfully, Castoff Pet Rescue stepped in just in time to save their lives. Her puppies have all found loving homes, and now it’s Izzy’s turn to shine. Izzy is young, active, and eager to begin the next chapter of her life. Her soft, expressive eyes and gorgeous coat make her hard to resist, but it’s her sweet, quirky personality that will truly win you over. She’s a little shy when meeting new people, but once she warms up? She’ll happily shake you down for treats with her signature puppy-dog look. This girl is all hound, through and through. She lives to sniff, explore, and follow her nose wherever it leads—which means she’ll need a home with a tall privacy fence or a commitment to leash walks and adventures. She would make an incredible trail dog or walking partner. And if you have a ball to throw? Even better. Izzy loves to play. She’s housebroken, smart, and eager to please. She’s already learned “sit” and responds to “no,” thanks to the training she received through the Colwell Rescue Program. But like any young pup with energy to spare, she’d benefit from continued training, structure, and a routine that keeps her mind and body engaged. Izzy does well with other dogs after a proper introduction, but she’s not a fan of cats or chickens—true to her hunting heritage. She’d thrive with an active, hound-savvy person or family who can give her the time, love, and attention she’s long deserved. This sweet girl has been through a lot, but she hasn’t let it break her spirit. She’s full of love, life, and curiosity—and she’s just waiting for someone to give her a chance.
