What does our Fruit Bat have in common with an actual fruit bat? Well, it sure isn’t that he likes fruit- we tried that. He turned his snoot up at blueberries, strawberries, apples… he’s a fruit snob!! They do have a few things in common though…- Fruit bats are an endangered species, and so is our Fruit Bat! He’s one of a kind!! - Fruit bats belong to the megabat family, rather than microbats, as they don`t have echolocation… and neither does our Fruit Bat, despite his rather impressive ears!!- Fruit bats are astoundingly smart, and we think our Fruit Bat is a smarty pants with tons of learning potential too! - Fruit bats sleep hanging upside down in trees… which our Fruit Bat is willing to give a shot if it gets him out of the shelter!!- Fruit bats are fuzzy and soft, and so is our Fruit Bat!!Frankly, it can be hard to tell a real fruit bat from our Fruit Bat, but offer our boy some fruit and it’ll be obvious! Fruit Bat is a big gangly puppy with two different colored eyes, huge pink and black, well… bat ears, a serious overbite, and a goofy personality- so basically the best mish mash of good boy ever. He LOVES toys and will happily carry one with him wherever he goes and is affectionally referred to by his volunteer friends as “Fruit Baby”.Fruit Bat spent two months in a foster home before being adopted but has sadly found himself back in the shelter once again through no fault of his own. During his time in foster Fruit Bat was housebroken and crate trained and was described as a cuddly, energetic lap dog (a very big lap dog). Fruit Bat’s foster also declared him to be a great dog who deserves a loving home, and we agree! Fruit Bat has been social, tolerant, and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. If you have a roost where Fruit Bat can practice his upside-down sleeping skills (or just a couch he can crash on), please ask to meet him today!!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt FRUIT BAT*, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
