My story

Meet Benny 🐾 Big Ears, Bigger Heart ❤️ Benny is a charming little gentleman with a whole lot of love to give. He walks beautifully on leash, knows a few tricks, and does great with other dogs in playgroup. He’s a water lover at heart and lives for lounging in the kiddie pool. He also loves to chase—so he’s got one half of fetch down pat! Benny has been returned three times through absolutely no fault of his own. His first adopter disappeared, the second faced long-term health challenges, and the third—a lovely young couple—had major lifestyle changes. Through it all, Benny has shown incredible resilience and heart. When Benny first arrived at Sarge’s, it was clear he had a history of abuse and was slow to trust. But today, thanks to love and patience, he eagerly greets new people with a wagging tail and hopeful eyes. Once he fully trusts you, Benny is incredibly affectionate and loves to cuddle. Because he’s not a fan of having his feet touched, Benny would do best in a home with older children who understand his boundaries. He thrives with daily walks, playtime, and lots of love.
