**$610 in pledges for the rescue that pulls** **NEW NOTES FROM 4/30** Triton ACCT-A-161114 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Triton must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER or RESCUE PARTNER by Sunday, May 5th by 10:00 am. Should Triton's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Have you been looking for an athletic furry friend to adventure with? Look no further than our man Triton! Triton has shown he can catch frisbees and tennis balls alike, and would love to go on your next adventure with you! Triton came into the shelter as a stray and is doing his best to be brave, although he's definitely stressed in this loud environment. Triton has the cutest mis-matched ears, and like many shepherds he absolutely loves tennis balls. While he may be a middle aged man, he is still athletic and enjoys a good run around and loves to prance around with his tennis balls in possession. Triton can be a bit nervous in new situations so he would do best in a home aged 13+ and would benefit from a breed savvy home! Triton can be quite reactive on leash to other dogs and stiff when meeting them so at this time he would do best in a single pet home! He was very excited to get out of kennel, and came running up to the door when he saw me. He tried to push his way out when I opened the door but I was able to easily leash him and he came right out. Triton is a strong puller but I put him in a harness wrap and he walked much better. When we got to the yard Triton immediately started picking out all of the tennis balls. It's endearing how much he loves tennis balls! He happily trotted around with one in his mouth while he looked for new ones. I threw some balls for him and I got to see how athletic he is. Triton would jump up and catch the ball mid air like Air Bud! Triton didn't like letting go of his balls, and he would keep one ball in his mouth while chasing the next one I threw! He's such a goofy boy, and it's highlighted by his funny mismatched ears! After a while Triton started getting tired and hot, so we hung out in the shade for a bit. I gave him some pets and he looked up at me with big soft eyes and a lolling tongue. When it was time to return I harness him and he walked pretty well. He does pull toward other dogs pretty strongly but I was able to easily keep him moving. Triton returned to kennel without issue and happily laid down with a tennis ball. Per staff 4/9/24: Very fixated during dog meet, lip licking, high stiff tail. Sniffed the other dog but then snapped at the other dogs face remaining tense and reactive. Per Volunteer 4/6/24: Triton was very excited to go on a walk today! He was spinning in circles in the kennel as I went to open the door, then allowed leashing and hopped right out. I would recommend a harness- he pulls and is pretty strong but it was very manageable. He's a high energy and playful boy!! He lovessss chasing tennis balls and actually any toy that I threw. He's quite athletic. He chased and caught a frisbee several times too! He didn't usually fetch it back to me though. We saw multiple dogs through the fence while in the play yard. One of them he was very excited to see and did zoomies and excitedly jumped. The other one he snarled and barked at but that dog came on strongly through the fence. Sweet boy, took pets all over but wasn't seeking out too much affection. Most interested in toys! Sniffed treats but didn't take them for the most part. Per Staff 4/4/24: Triton was stressed in the room panting and pacing but was fairly social with multiple handlers. he would come up to me with an open mouth tongue hanging out, soft eyes, and low wags. he allowed me to pet his head and back without any issues and would leaning for butt scratches. At times he would head whip when petting his sides or if you moved too quick but never tensed or escalated. Did well with multiple people handling him Per Staff 4/4/24: Triton was found tied up with a muzzle on. Removed by staff in the intake lobby. Triton was nervous but unreactive. Due to being significantly overcapacity with animals and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging an animal.
