My story

Hi there! My name is Panini - a gentle, resilient little soul on the lookout for my forever home.I`m an adult Chihuahua mix with a past that`s been tough, but I`m slowly learning what it means to feel safe and loved. When I was rescued, I was severely malnourished, covered in fleas, and absolutely terrified of the world around me. For weeks, I stayed curled up in my crate, only venturing out to use a potty pad. But thanks to the patience and love of my foster family, I`ve made amazing progress - and I`m ready to find that special someone who can help me continue to grow.My ideal home is a calm, quiet environment with adults or older kids who understand that I need time, space, and gentle encouragement. I`d thrive with a friendly, patient small or medium-sized dog buddy who can show me the ropes and help me gain confidence. A securely fenced yard is a must because I`m still afraid of leashes and walks right now. I`m also not quite ready to be picked up, but I travel well in a crate or a dog stroller to get from place to place. I`m not your typical lap dog yet, but that doesn`t mean I won`t become one in time! What I need most is someone who can love me just as I am right now-and celebrate every little milestone with me.There`s so much to love about me already: I`ve got a sweet, shy smile, a playful side that`s starting to peek through, and the cutest little bunny hops when I get excited. I`m low-energy for the most part, but I do have my fun, bouncy spurts! I`ve even started joining my foster family on the couch now and then.My foster mom says I`ve blossomed into a funny, sweet, and lovable little `string bean,` and she can`t wait for me to bring that joy to my forever family.
