Bijou

My story

Woof! My name is Bijou (French for delicate jewel, which is very fitting for how precious I am!). I came to the shelter as an unclaimed stray in 2023. I was adopted out once but sadly brought back because I was having difficulties holding my urine. The shelter has sought medical treatment for me in the form of medications and even a surgical procedure called a cystoscopy where a congenital defect was identified and corrected. It may take some time to see if all this has helped but there is a chance I may need to wear diapers while inside (which is no problem for me! I don't mind wearing them at all!).  It's tough for me living in a shelter.  I would benefit with a medical foster placement to help monitor my situation and the medicine I'm on. I ask myself “why me” because I am the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet. I love playing with my toys, going for walks, and mostly cuddling with my human. I am also good with kids, cats, and other dogs.
