Bobby

My story

Bobby is neutered male, 1 yr, 9 mo old, Canaan/Border Collie mix that weighs 74 lbs and was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 6/10 along with a housemate named Coco. The reason given was that according to the Mesquite ordinances they were not allowed to tether. Both dogs were adopted together originally on 7/24. Bobby spent time standing by the door barking to get in. I’m assuming he was missing Coco. They seem to love each other. However, I was told by the staff that together they are quite rambunctious. Bobby was more outgoing and active than Coco. When he first got out into the yard he frolicked joyfully back-and-forth being silly and goofy. He did jump on me one time but apparently knows the word no. He responded appropriately so he definitely wants to please. He knows the sit command and will offer you his paw. He did do his business in the yard. He does have a strong pull on the leash. He’s friendly, spirited, happy and very alert. When I started to pet him he would immediately sit to take it all in. He loves affection. He does need to have a secured yard to play in, but would need to lived indoors to spend his time adoring his new family in the house.
