*AVAILABLE FOR OUR FOSTER TO ADOPT PROGRAM* Meet BMO — a quirky, charming 3.5-year-old, 14lb pup who’s coming up on one year in our care. In that time, he’s truly blossomed. What began as a journey of trust and patience has evolved into a rewarding bond with a dog who is loving, hilarious, and full of heart. Whether you're looking for a hiking buddy or a calm companion for cozy evenings, BMO brings the best of both worlds. He thrives on play — tug-of-war, fetch, hand wrestling, and his signature post-potty zoomies — but also knows how to settle in and relax. His favorite things include long walks, cozy crates, plush blankets, and having a predictable routine he can count on. BMO is affectionate in his own thoughtful way. He enjoys attention but can become overwhelmed by too much affection too soon, so he does best when his space is respected and introductions happen gradually. Once he bonds with you, he’s incredibly loyal and sweet — a little shadow who wants to be near his person, just with some emotional breathing room. To help BMO feel secure, we recommend keeping things structured during his initial decompression period. For the first few weeks, it’s best to avoid allowing him on furniture, leaving food out, or giving him complete free roam of the home, as these can trigger anxiety or resource guarding. He does best when his person sets clear expectations, respects his space while he’s resting, and advocates for him in new situations. With time and consistency, BMO relaxes into his environment and becomes a joyful, loving companion. BMO currently lives with cats and dogs in his foster home, though we believe he’d do best as the only dog where he can fully thrive. He’s shown he can peacefully coexist with cats and doesn’t mind sharing his home with a feline friend. BMO is still working through some insecurities — particularly around guarding his space and adjusting to strangers — but he’s come such a long way with the help of a trainer, and he's ready to keep growing. We’re looking for a foster-to-adopt home committed to continuing his training and providing the structure and love he needs to succeed. After nearly a year with us, BMO is more than ready for his forever person. If you're patient, dog-savvy, and looking for a loyal, endlessly entertaining companion, BMO just might be your perfect match. Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped. Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails! Visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application.
