Phantom ACCT-A-174974 is an adult male who came in as an owner surrender on 9/15. Videos: Monet and Phantom: https://youtube.com/shorts/mICmreMw_Lc?feature=share Behavioral notes: Per staff on 9/17: Took Phantom out again today for some activity time to see how he is doing and to get a better read on him behaviorally. Phantom was wiggly in kennel and was doing toe taps and wagging with neutral eyes. He was easy to leash and exited without issue. In the yard he was much more social today! He allowed all handling and warmed up quickly. He still was flinchy if you caught him off guard, but did much better than yesterday, He allowed all handing and even leaned in for pets. He showed knowledge of sit and shake as well and got very playful while outside! BEHAVIOR EVALUATION (9/16) KNOWN HISTORY: Owner surrender KENNEL PRESENTATION: Phantom was laying on his bed with neutral body and eyes and stood up when he saw the handler. He allowed over head leashing and came out once secured. LEASH SKILLS: Pull minimally. HANDLING: Once Phantom was outside for his eval he walked around the room and got his pictures taken for promo. He allowed touch but head whipped when the handler touched him at times he would head whip and hard stare. He sometimes tenses up and gives whale eyes randomly when walking around with him on leash as well. He allowed the handler to pet him once he was spoken in a baby voice but then began to stiffen up, head whipping and whale eyes with extended handling. At times he would begin to solicit and nudge the handler with his head and give some wags while scratching him, but was only tolerant in small spurts. He is very picky about treats and didn't accept anything we had to offer. PLAY Flinched when the handler attempted TOYS: No interest COLOR LEVEL & ANY RECOMMENDATIONS: Blue Per staff on 9/15: Removed O/S male standard poodle from owners home. ... Per owner and staff, the dog had been alone in the apartment for 4-5 days. Her [departure] was unplanned, so the dog only had 1 small bowl of water these past few days. ... Phantom was standoffish the first 25 mins, something that the owner let me know in advance. He ran up to the 3rd floor and wouldn't come down at first. Very conflicted and scared at first, alert barking, but never showed any aggression at all. Was able to leash him in the end, and once on the leash, he did really well. Jumped right into the van on his own. He likes baby talk, and for you to tell him "Phantom is a good boy! Its ok Phantom!" Just go slow with him. He's been through a lot
