Ginny is currently in a foster home enjoying herself with both dog and cat siblings. She thinks a foster home is an improvement from the shelter, but what she`d really like is a furever home where she can settle in and let it all hang out. When Ginny came to the shelter as a stray, she had the beginnings of an embedded collar and two cherry eyes that impacted her vision. After medical care, including two surgeries, she is ready to move on with her life.Because life wasn`t so kind early on, Ginny is a bit shy and has some `stranger danger.` She may do best in a low traffic home where there aren`t a lot of visitors. And she`d like an adopter who will take things slower with her and continue to grow her confidence. Once you are in the club, Ginny loves her people fiercely and shows her sweet and playful personality. Since Ginny has come to stay, her foster reports that she`s never lonely in the bathroom. She follows you around the house so closely, you think she`s gone elsewhere, but really it is just that you can’t even see her when you look over your shoulder because she’s directly on your heels. She`s also let us in on the secret that she`s a smart girl who has learned skills like shake and down somewhere along the way. She`s a great work from home office companion. Plus, after a slow introduction, she has taken to her foster dog siblings and loves to play with them. As for the foster cat fur siblings, she`s interested in them and would probably play well with them too it they were remotely interested, but let`s face it, they are cats and more interested in themselves.Ginny is around 1 year old and is the perfect medium-sized pup at 40lbs. Ginny is great on a leash, and she is both crate and house trained. She is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped.Since Ginny is living in a foster home, please email Angie at asplittgerber@gmail.com to meet her.Her ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ginny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
