My story

Hello there, my name is Skippy and here is a little info about me:  Breed: Jindo mixAge: 4 yearsGender: Male    Weight: 48 lbHeight: 58 cmHighlight(s): Affectionate, calm, rarely bark I was born in July 2020 to a brave mama who escaped a tough life. While my five siblings found their forever homes, I’m still waiting for my special someone! I’m a friendly guy who loves meeting new people—just approach me gently, and I’ll happily let you pet me. Once I trust you, I’ll roll over for belly rubs and cuddles! I tend to feel more comfortable with women but am open to making friends with everyone. I’ve been through doggy school and learned to socialize with other dogs. I prefer adult dogs and can be a bit stiff around hyper pups, but I handle introductions well. People and treats are definitely my favorite! I do have some food allergies (no poultry, beef, or pork for me), so I’m on a salmon-based diet.  Fish or vegan treats are okay. I’m crate-trained, almost fully house-trained (90%), and I rarely bark—just a little when visitors arrive. I don’t escape or have separation anxiety, but balance in affection is key. I can’t live with cats, but if you’re looking for a loyal companion to share your life with, I’m ready to bring joy to your home! Energy Level: I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy outdoor activities and like to rest/calm at home after walks.  I'm very calm indoors. I like to chill out or take a nap. It doesn't mean I don't like walks. I love walks! I'm a good leash walker. I might be excited at first, but after a few minutes, I'll follow my handler better. I can jump into a car. I really enjoy riding a car. I love to look out of the car window and feel the wind. During walks, I'm quite confident and curious. I'm  not scared of passing cars, buses, and trucks.I'm very good at jumping into a car. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
