My story

Hello. My name is Honey (F). I am the sweetest and want to please you. My siblings are Buddy (M), Shadow(M), and Roxy (F). Our lives are so fun and happy, but this was not always how they were. We live way out in the country at the base of a mountain near a creek. People think that it is an excellent place for unwanted dogs and puppies. We are called dump dogs, unwanted, uncared for, and left to die. All we wanted when we were born was to find someone to love us. Our foster family was saying this was the first time they had seen a litter of puppies. On their way home from dinner one night. We ran out from the high grass onto the road. They slammed on the brakes, stopping the truck from its tracks. When the first two tan ones came running out, my foster family thought we were coyote pups because they had just passed one hunting a mile away. Then, the rest of us came out jumping and wiggling. We had been raised, cared for, and socialized because as soon as we got out of the truck, they couldn't be happier to see us. All my foster family kept saying was how poor, skinny, starving babies were. Of course, we had to come home with us. Good humans don't leave starving babies on the side of the road to become coyote snacks.   Over the past few weeks, our foster mom has had the pleasure of fattening them up and making sure they were healthy and loved on plenty.  Now it is your turn. Let me introduce you to these sweet little loves. We are ready for a furever home. Please request an application alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. We cannot wait to play in the leaves, run in the snow like I have good sense, curl up with you on the couch, snuggle, eat popcorn, and watch a program. But the first thing is to be with you, please you, and share your life's adventures. Shadow: This guy gives the meltiest cuddles. He is so gentle and sweet. On pack walks, he loves to walk right beside me, touching his nose to my leg occasionally to let me know he is there. He is the most mellow, chill pup in the bunch. His happy place is right beside his human. He has been exposed to children and is fantastic with them. Buddy: This adorable little guy has so much personality. He reminds me of a time when I had a little toddler boy. His favorite words would be up, cuddle, and play if he were. He seems to match his person's energy. Buddy is playful, funny, cute, and spunky when my husband or teen son comes out to help with the pups. He mostly wants food and cuddles from me....lots of cuddles. He did well when we took him to meet all the scout boys. He seemed to enjoy everyone, all ages.  Roxy: This sweet girl has such a gentle touch. She is the smartest in the bunch. She was the first to learn manners (sitting to be a pet instead of jumping and clawing at our legs). She is almost always the first to come running when I call them in from their free exploration time. She loves to get her cuddles and likes to check my chin for crumbs. This little darling did a perfect job when we exposed her to children. She was sweet and calm, per usual. Honey: Honey is our star athlete. She is intelligent and determined. She was the skinniest, and her siblings picked on her a bit. This made her independent and scrappy. She was the first to learn how to jump out of their little temporary kennel while we built them a giant pen. She is also the only one who can climb out of their 4-foot fence and often does so to get us with excited wiggles. This girl will need someone who will work her mind and her body. She is food and praise-driven and works for treats and love. If she were the only pup I was fostering, I would give her a food puzzle and play games like fetch with her. She is also going to like water activities. She was a little wiggly when we took her to play with the children, but she wanted them, and they liked her. She might have too much energy for super tiny humans and couch potatoes. Honey Female Not spayed Breed: Hound mix Color: Yellow and black Age: 14 weeks (As of 10/20/2024) Weight: 19lbs Color: Black & tan Great with people, children, dogs/ puppies, and Cats/ kittens Adoption Donation $495 Carlton Rescue- Operation Puppy Love 501c(3)(Like us on Facebook)
