Look up “Velcro dog” in a dictionary and you might find a picture of Parky. Born Aug. 3, 2024, this Australian Cattle Dog mix has spent his young life in the canine company of his mom, a litter mate, and a grumpy Blue Heeler on a farm outside of Nampa. He thoroughly enjoys his romps on the farm but needs a loving, active, and patient person who can keep him close—an almost constant companion to help bring out his absolute best. Looking for rural or near-rural living space. He likes female dogs but hasn’t had an easy time with the males in his life so is wary of them. He learned quickly to treat cats with respect; he likes them yet leaves them alone. Parky is sensitive to thunder and fireworks but can be calmed. His first instinct with threats is to flee, so he should be on leash with his person until a bond is formed. Parky is accustomed to tasty and varied food, wide open spaces, fun things to smell, also likes nothing more than snuggling on the couch. So far he shows no interest in swimming. He has enjoyed his life; still, he needs to find out that there is so much more waiting for him with the right person. Treasure Valley residents only, because more than one visit will be necessary to ease him into a new life with his special someone. Essentially, he thinks he is home, so this will be considered a re-homing for a sensitive and loyal pup. He’s house-trained, neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped. His adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Parky, please complete an adoption applicaiton located here: https://idawg.org/application.html
If you have any questions or would like to adopt PARKY ***good with cats!***, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
