My story

Micky ACCT-A-179696 is a 4-year-old male that came in as a stray on 11/01. On 11/01, the finder noted that he was " abandoned by a man & left in park overnight. He is scared around strangers, other animals, and children, and scared on a leash; had to give him treats. He appears mishandled and is friendly, shy, scared, and doesn't like noises. BEHAVIOR EVALUATION 11/02: Micky "KNOWN HISTORY: Stray KENNEL PRESENTATION: Micky was in a crate and came up slowly to sniff me. He had neutral eyes and body and lowered himself a bit to appear smaller. When I opened the crate door he came up slowly to sniff the leash and allowed me to slowly put the leash on from chin to ear. Once secured he came out and pancaked but with some baby talk he walked out. LEASH SKILLS: Minimally - darts away and pulls moderately when scared - pretty fearful on leash HANDLING: In the room, Micky tried to hide under the desk, chairs and in the corners but due to his size, he frightened himself more when he banged his head and body on everything. He came up and did some sweet sniffs, allowing all handling with a slower approach. He doesn't solicit for affection but does allow you to slowly come t o him and also prefers a lowered body when you approach him. Quick movements and loud noises seem to frighten him but he still was tolerant and allowed us to confront him. He knows how to sit and took some steak treats very nicely but dropped it after. PLAY No interest- scared TOYS: No interest Per intake exam on 11/01: " - slight debris in ears , badly cropped - pink & moist gums, yellow staining with tartar on molars - dry but soft coat/skin - male intact Attitude: timid , but scared very food motivated Overall assessment: P presented for exam BAR , timid and scared but non reactive , p did have wound on top of head near (L) eye and a couple scratches on side of left face , ( all are healing )
