My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.Marni has improved since her first assessment and while she gave a small hiss on approach she then came forward for treats and allowed gentle petting even after the treats ran out. She allowed petting on her cheek, head and along the back. She doesn't like fast movement or being startled.Marni interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in cats who are fearful.A volunteer writes: Context is everything. Meet 11 year old Marni who has been described as a playful, affectionate, and talkative guy who loves his water fountain, but, since he hasn't been loving the Care Center, I haven't yet seen this side of his brilliant personality. Friendly habits are friendly habits, so I wasn't surprised when he hopped over to the front when he saw me. I thought he was happy to see me and was only slightly disappointed that he had his eyes on the squeeze up I held in my hand. With occasional grumbles to complement his legendary side eye, he ate the treats and we shared our time. I want to say happily, but his little arched kitty eyebrow was everything as he continually questioned my presence. Now, I don't feel in a position to judge what I see as the sum total. If someone took a snapshot of me working on a group project or being uncomfortable at a party, I wouldn't look so good. I think, however, Marni deserves to be at his best and look good, which is why I think you should give him a chance and take him home. Primary Color: Tabby Weight: 9.4 Age: 13yrs 2mths 2wks
