What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some canine body language together!I don't always like to share my food, toys or bedding with other animals.A Volunteer Wrote: I watched the park ranger bring the dearest dog, now known as Sir Walter, to the shelter, and while he waited for the paperwork to be done he never stopped embracing Sir Walter-not once. "He's an amazing dog," he said. "Someone's going to get incredibly lucky." This beautiful, gentle dog was understandably scared-too scared at that time to be tempted even by a biscuit-but his first instinct was to lean into his human caretaker and seek comfort. We are loving him at the shelter so much, and loving that he is beginning to realize he is in a safe place and has a chance at a long, happy life. Please, won't you consider offering that to him? It would be a beautiful gift to Sir Walter, as well as to the park ranger who immediately called it-this is a gem of a pup.
