My story

Meet Pepper – Your New Best Friend in Black and White! Pepper is a sweet, playful, and affectionate pup whose tail never stops wagging. With his charming black-and-white coat, expressive brown eyes, and irresistibly floppy ears, he’s not just handsome—he’s also a total cuddle bug who loves leaning in close for snuggles. Smart and well-mannered, Pepper knows several commands including Sit, Stay, Shake, Spin, and Place (his cue to lie on a mat and relax). He’s both house- and crate-trained, though he’s currently trusted to roam the house while home alone. Training is a breeze with Pepper—he’s highly food motivated and eager to please. Pepper enjoys daily walks and would love a home with a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and sniff around. While he’s lived as an only dog, he gets along well with others and might thrive with a canine companion. He’s friendly with new people, though he may get a little excited when guests first arrive. Due to his size and energy, older children are the best match. On leash, Pepper walks well overall but can become a bit enthusiastic when he sees other dogs—he’s just that eager to say hello! Continued leash training will help him keep his cool. Pepper’s ideal day includes a neighborhood stroll, playtime with chew toys or balls, plenty of belly rubs, and some relaxed time on the couch with his favorite human. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a playful spirit and a heart full of love, Pepper might just be your perfect match. Background: Pepper came to IAR after his previous owner could no longer care for him due to family medical issues. Health: Pepper is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. He takes a daily allergy medication and is doing great.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sgt. Pepper, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
