My story

Pepper is a playful and attentive dog, his black and white tail continually wagging. An affectionate guy, he will also happily lean into you and become a giant cuddle bug. As a smart dog with good house manners, Pepper knows Sit, Stay, Shake, Spin, and Place (lying down on his mat for some duration). He is house- and crate-trained but is not currently crated when left home alone. Pepper is food motivated, which makes him a joy to train. Pepper would love to find a home with a fenced yard, in addition to having daily walks. Pepper likes other dogs, and might thrive with a doggy housemate, although he's always been an only dog in the past. A friendly fellow, he likes meeting new people but can get excited when greeting strangers for the first time in the home. Older children are preferred due to his size. On daily walks around the neighborhood, Pepper does fairly well on the leash. However, he can get over-excited and pull to greet other dogs, so continued training is a good idea. A perfect day for Pepper includes a good walk with lots of sniffing, play with chew toys or bouncing balls, belly rubs, and some quiet couch time. Will you be the person to make his perfect day a dream come true? HISTORY Pepper came into IAR to find his new forever home after his owner could no longer care for him due to family medical issues. HEALTH Pepper is up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. He takes a daily medication for allergies. PHYSICAL Pepper is lean and fit, with a short black and white coat. He has intelligent brown eyes, adorable black spots on his nose, and soft, floppy ears.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sgt. Pepper, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
