This cutie pie is our adorable Chipper, and he is hoping for his own furever home! Chipper has the most pyrfect pyrsonality - he easily befriends everyone (two- or four-legged) who come across his path, and he is more than eager to demonstrate his show-and-tell skills. In anticipation of any needs of his unique skills, he regularly carries his "trophy" with him on walks, such as a flower, a stick, or a toy. Seriously, you cannot help yourself but smile when you see Chipper bouncing towards you - it will likely be the highlight of your day! This sweet boy is working hard on his basic cues and manners, in preparation to be the bestest boy for his furever family. He already walks well on leash, is crate trained, and knows how to “sit” on command. During down times, Chipper loves to play with his foster siblings, or show off his belly because when you have a cute belly, you simply have to share it with everyone in the room, right? This best boy will thrive in a loving home where he will receive lots of attention. He needs a secure, 5’-fenced in yard, and a canine sibling to help show him the ropes. NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Chipper in TN Age: 7 mos old as of February 2025 Color: White with tan markings Dew Claws: None Estimated Adult Weight: 80 - 90 lbs Current Location: NGPR approved foster in Lebanon, TN Medical: Pup will be placed on a spay/neuter contract with a date specified for the spay or neuter procedure to be performed by. Dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. This dog travels with a Interstate Health Certificate required by the USDA confirming that all the above criteria have been met. Housebroken: Working on it! Can be Placed With: Other dogs, dog savvy cats, kids, and horses. Fencing: Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed. Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. Fees for dogs adopted locally start at $400 and can range up to $700 for puppies under six months. Puppies placed on spay/neuter contracts receive $100 back when the dog is spayed or neutered. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues.
