My story

** If you are interested in adopting Sadie, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Sadie – A Sweet Little Survivor Looking for Her Forever Home! Sadie is a precious 2 and a half month old Australian Cattle Dog mix, believed to have some Husky in her as well. At just 12 lbs now, she's expected to grow to about 40 lbs as an adult. Sadie's journey hasn't been easy – she was found as a stray in Texas, confused and covered in fleas, with only her littermate by her side. Sadly, Sadie was placed on the euthanasia list at the shelter due to overcrowding, but thanks to the support of compassionate rescuers, she’s now safe, healthy, and ready for a second chance at life. Sadie has blossomed in her foster home and is now a happy, playful puppy with so much love to give. Sadie is a smart and silly pup, perfect for a family or individual who enjoys outdoor adventures and wants a loving, loyal companion. She’s also great with other dogs and would thrive in a home with another playful dog or active family. Now Sadie is heading to Colorado to find her forever family. She’s looking for a home where she’ll get the love, care, and attention she deserves. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a sweet, smart, and spunky pup like Sadie, don't wait – she's waiting for you! Since Sadie is still a puppy, she’s a blank slate – ready and eager to learn! She’ll thrive in a home where she can receive the time, love, and training necessary to help her become the well-behaved, confident adult dog she's destined to be. With the right guidance, including puppy kindergarten and positive reinforcement training, Sadie will blossom into an amazing companion who will form deep bonds with her family. Every puppy needs a family who can invest in training and socialization as the puppies grows. Sadie will need positive, force-free obedience classes (virtual or in-person) to set her up for success and to ensure she’s a happy, well-behaved pup that can go on adventures and be a joy to have by your side. This kind of commitment pays off tenfold when you have a dog who is not only well-behaved but also an absolute joy to be around. Training is an adoption requirement of ours, and we are not open to adopting to a home who doesn't have desire to train a new puppy. Sadie will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. However, she will still need 1 more parvo/distemper vaccines before it is safe for her to walk on public ground. Extensive new research shows that she is far too young to be spayed at this time. Spay is required to be done before she turns 1 year old (7-8 months of age is recommended) and spay is required to finalize any adoption. Farfel's Rescue covers the full cost of her spay if our rescue vet is used. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet dog! An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE**. If you're truly interested in adopting Alfie please be sure to submit the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Petfinder or Adoptapet don't provide enough information for us to determine a great match for this very deserving dog and therefore aren't useful. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those those that don't submit a Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sadie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
