My story

Meet Big Mac! 🍔 Big Mac is a 3–4-year-old husky x shepherd (and possibly Akita!) mix with a personality as bold as his name. This handsome, confident guy was found hanging around a McDonald’s, hoping for a snack and some friendly company—and now he’s looking for something even better: a forever home. Big Mac is full of charm and charisma. He’s social, playful, and eager to please—and he already knows some basic commands, suggesting he’s been someone’s beloved companion before. Since arriving in early December, he’s been patiently waiting for the right person or family to see what a gem he is. True to his name, Big Mac is very food-motivated and always up for learning when there’s a treat involved. He also loves toys and playtime, whether it’s a game of fetch or just goofing around with his people. He’s been around other dogs and does well, though he likes to be the one in charge—he’s happy to share his space as long as he’s calling the shots. That said, Big Mac isn’t a beginner dog. He was recently returned after showing some resource guarding and having trouble accepting correction—he tends to redirect his frustration onto the person trying to set boundaries. Because of this, he’s looking for an experienced, adult-only home that can offer strong, compassionate leadership, structure, and consistency. With the right guidance, Big Mac will thrive. He’s loyal, full of personality, and ready to be someone’s adventure buddy.
