My story

Meet Rocky! Rocky is a handsome German Shepherd who came to us as an owner surrender and is now looking for a committed, experienced home that understands the needs of his breed and his boundaries. This loyal boy has a big heart and a big voice—he’s known to be vocal and expressive, especially when he’s trying to communicate with his people. Rocky is both house trained and potty trained, and he walks well on a leash with guidance and correction. He knows several basic commands like “sit,” “paw,” and “down,” and thrives in a structured environment where his training is reinforced. While Rocky is incredibly sweet and enjoys cuddles with those he trusts, he doesn’t appreciate excessive or overwhelming affection and prefers a calm, respectful approach when it comes to physical contact. He is not dog-friendly and must be the only pet in the household—no exceptions—so he can feel safe and relaxed in his space. Because of his need for structure and his strong personality, Rocky would do best in an adult-only home or with older, dog-savvy children who understand his boundaries and can interact with him appropriately. Rocky is a loving, intelligent companion for the right person or family who is ready to provide him with the leadership, respect, and consistency he deserves.
