My story

(Mary) Ellie is a 9-year-old pitbull mix with a loving heart and a strong spirit. She’s been a cherished part of our family since 2018 and formed a deep bond with her former pack partner, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Since his passing, Ellie has experienced anxiety and struggles with the changes in her environment. Ellie would thrive in a calm, consistent home where she can be the only pet and receive the love and reassurance she craves. While she got along wonderfully with her previous pack member, she has shown aggression toward other dogs and would do best in a pet-free environment. Her behavior with cats is unknown, as she has never been around them. Our family dynamics have changed significantly this year. We recently welcomed a new baby, and I got married to someone with another pet that Ellie doesn’t get along with. These changes have made it difficult to provide her with the stability and attention she needs to feel secure and happy. Ellie hasn’t had formal training, but we consulted a behavior trainer who suggested that rehoming her to a more suitable environment would be the best option for her well-being. Despite her challenges, Ellie is a sweet and loyal companion with so much love to give. Ellie is looking for a patient and understanding home where she can relax, be the center of attention, and enjoy her golden years surrounded by love.
