What my friends at ACC say about me:My favorite pastime is being visually admired! Pet me with your eyes!I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.A volunteer writes: Maxamillion was getting cozy for a mid-morning nap when we met, but he politely decided he could spare a minute to make a new friend. Max showed off his listening skills, waiting patiently while I introduced myself, then presented his forehead for a little scratch between the ears. He gently leaned into cheek rubs, turning his head this way and that, making sure I didn't miss any spots. Rolling onto his side, Maxamillion stretched out his fuzzy paws, and his eyes drifted shut. When I stepped back to leave him to his nap, however, he looked back up with sleepy slow blinks as if to say, "Why did you stop?" So we got right back to the petting, and Max relaxed into the extra cuddles while resting his eyes.Addendum(2/4) Maxamilion made my day! I had almost given up on him and my heart was broken. Never give up! There is always hope to make things better. Maxamilion decided to pop the bubble preventing him to enjoy life. He came out of his cubby, his eyes were bright, he was not hunched, he did not back up, on the contrary, rather tried to get out of his kennel and showed me how much he enjoyed my petting(see video). A big step forward we have to consolidate and improve to the point that Maxamilion will be soon able to go home. Stay tuned for more progress!
