My story

Meet Zira: The Brindle Goofball Extraordinaire! If you’re looking for a dog with the perfect mix of couch potato and chaotic toy enthusiast, look no further—Zira is your girl! This three-year-old brindle pittie mix has mastered the art of zoomies at random intervals and takes her job as a professional toy un-stuffer very seriously. To Zira, removing every ounce of fluff from a stuffed toy isn’t destruction—it’s a reward. A personal victory. A job well done.Zira was adopted almost two months ago, but due to the adopters health issues, her adopter had to make the heartbreaking decision to bring her back. But here’s the thing—her previous person had nothing but amazing things to say about her! And honestly, we get it.She’s silly, she’s sweet, and she’s got the squishiest face (cropped ears and all!). While she can be a little shy at first, some soft words and a few tasty treats will have her melting into your lap in no time. She lives for long walks with her best friends but also appreciates a good Netflix binge on the couch. Zira has previously lived with cats and seems to be more comfortable around smaller dogs, so she’d love a home with a compatible furry sibling. She’d also do best with older, sturdy kids or teens who can keep up with her goofy energy.Zira is food-motivated, eager to learn, and currently working on her training—though she insists that zoomies are a valid life skill. She’d love a home that will continue helping her be the best girl she can be!So, if you need a best friend who will make you laugh daily, keep you active, and proudly turn stuffed toys into empty fabric husks, Zira is ready to be your new sidekick! Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays). If you are interested in this pet, please review our adoption process at www.lowellhumanesociety.org/adoption/#process so you`re prepared to adopt & stop by the shelter with the required information to take home this pet. Zira is currently in foster care so if you are falling in love with her, please reach out to staff to schedule a meet & greet.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Zira, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
