Meet Sadie! Sadie is a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees/Black Lab mix with a playful, energetic personality and a heart full of potential. Born on March 4, 2024, Sadie weighs approximately 75-80 lbs and is still growing into her big, sweet self. Sadie thrives on activity and loves to play! She enjoys two daily walks and zooming around the yard during playtime. She’s a strong chewer and is happiest with durable toys like balls, frisbees, and yak bones, though she needs some supervision with squeaky stuffed toys. She’s working on her manners and responds to cues like “leave it” when she tries to grab a shoe or other off-limits items. While Sadie is a bundle of energy, she also has a shy and cautious side. She can be nervous around new people or situations, occasionally backing away or barking, but other times she warms up quickly. On walks, she passes by people and dogs calmly and has done well with every dog she’s met. She walks beautifully on a leash and is learning to resist distractions like squirrels and birds. Sadie is smart and eager to learn. She knows several commands, including: • Sit • Stay (with a hand gesture) • Come (working on consistency outdoors) • Leave it (improving steadily) • Wait • Back • Off (e.g., off the bed) • Down (to lay down) • In your bed (crate command – she goes in easily) • Place (newly introduced) • Paw and Other Paw • “Do it now” (bathroom command – she only goes in her yard, not on walks) Sadie is crate-trained and sleeps soundly in her crate. She’s currently working on reducing her jumping and mouthiness, which improve with consistent training and guidance. We love Sadie dearly, but after much thought, we feel she would thrive in a home where her family has more time to dedicate to her ongoing training and her need for mental and physical stimulation. She is a bright, loving dog who, with the right environment and support, will blossom into a confident, happy companion. Could you be the one to help Sadie reach her full potential? http://www.coldnosewarmheart.org/dog-application.html @cnwhnj @coldnosewarmheartnj
