My story

*** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, or FOSTER TO ADOPT *** Meet Scarlett! She is currently enrolled in our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and she is almost ready to show off her new skills! Her new abilities include 'sit', 'wave', 'shake' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent. Scarlett has come a long way! She was originally from Texas, and it wasn't until she arrived that we discovered she was pregnant. She raised her babies and was a great mom. She's now ready to be wine and dined and loved on herself. Scarlett likes to show her teeth to new people and dogs. It is a submissive grin, and she means no harm by it. Her handler is even trying to teach her to "Smile" on command. She likes to be as close as possible to her humans, and loves being loved on. She does fine with other dogs and plays nicely with them. She does really well in her kennel at PACK and hasn't had any issues being left alone for periods of time. Scarlett is also housetrained. When she's been around cats, she's been super focused on them. She hasn't tried to chase them or hurt them, but we would be very cautious of her with a cat. Perhaps with very slow introductions and lots of patience and training, she might be able to adapt and live with one. Who doesn't need more smiles in their life? If you adopt Scarlett, we can guarantee lots of smiles in your future. She'll graduate in the middle of July, apply to meet her today!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Scarlett, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
